Gin and Jazz

This is sure to cure the post Christmas blues. There’s been sufficient food and alcohol consumed over the last few days but we do love it when, instead of talking about the weather, we’re excusing our indulgence with ‘Oh go on, it’s Christmas.’ There’s still holiday fever in abundance and now it’s the countdown to New Year’s Eve. This Gin and Jazz Cocktail is so good ??

Ingredients

2 parts Gin

1 part Blue Curaçao

1 part fresh lime juice

1/2 Simple syrup

1 part tonic syrup

Soda water

Mint

Method

Add lots of ice to a glass

Build the rest of the ingredients

Gin, tonic syrup, blue curaçao, lime juice, simple syrup

Top with soda water

Add fresh mint garnish

Swizzle with a pasta straw

Sip to the sound of a bit of jazz in the background.

The colour is so inviting and once swizzled it’s a beautiful glistening of bright sea green. The mint add freshness and aromatics with every sip. Delicious! A little riff on the Prohibition classic The Gin Rickey. It’s worthy of a Great Gatsby Party, don’t you think?

If you’re swizzling this, add @forcocktailsake on social media and we can say Cheers!
